Coach Bennett founded EVOLUTION Basketball in 2006 with a vision to build a community and program that provides the top coaching, basketball people, professional experience and opportunities for amateur basketball student-athletes and families.

In 2006, Coach Bennett started MASS EVOLUTION (aka EVOLUTION / EVO) with 11 5th grade boys from Woburn, Reading, North Reading, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham and Wilmington MA communities. Over the next 7 years, this group paved the way as some of the top players in the Middlesex League. Along the way,  1 team grew into 6, then to 12, then to 20, added a girls program and grew to almost 60 teams across Eastern MA and Southern NH with players at the top of their leagues calling EVO their home.  The first of 11 group went on to fulfill Coach Bennett’s vision, and more, as 10 of the original 11 went on to play collegiately and all remain friends today.  This vision has been duplicated many times over the years with hundreds of players and alumni who have gone on to play collegiately and remain friends and FamilyOn3. 

Coach Bennett is a coach at heart, but is also a 20+ year executive professional in the Biopharma industry with a focus on Program Management and Strategy in the fight against cancer and other conditions.

Coach Bennett is a native of Medford MA with experience coaching at the youth, CYO, high school (public & prep), collegiate and club levels including previously with several known club programs in the area.

Coach Bennett was also a competitive athlete growing up in Medford MA and playing collegiately (basketball and club volleyball) at Westfield State University and in high school (basketball, baseball, and cross country). 

As a rising coach in Medford MA (10 years at St. Joseph’s CYO & Youth Development Program), Woburn Travel Basketball & Woburn BGC Program), Coach Bennett wanted to give back even more. 

Now 18 years into EVOLUTION, Coach Bennett has helped hundreds of student-athletes to achieve their next level – in sport, life and building strong relationships. FamilyOn3 is a culture and a community that Coach Bennett is proud of. 

EVOLUTION is an amazing place for student-athletes at every development level, Boys and Girls, to strive for their next level.  EVOLUTION Basketball has been an awesome place for so many student-athletes, coaches and families over the years.  

Program (for 20 years) I currently work full time in the biotech industry as Exec Director, Strategy & Program Management at Replimune (an Oncology Company in Woburn MA) and have worked across the bio-pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years at companies including Biogen, Merck-Serono, Akebia and Ironwood. 

I’m originally from Medford, MA where I grew up, played collegiately at Westfield and coached HS in Stoneham, Woburn, and The Rivers School and collegiately at Fitchburg Univ. I also spent over 16 years in Woburn Travel coaching at all levels for boys and girls. 

I live with my significant other (Lisa) in Revere MA and Wells ME (when we can) and we have 4 awesome adult children – Tyler 28 (accountant and plumber), Sydney 25 (in San Diego CA as a home health aid), Kyle 22 (Sr @ UMASS Lowell) and Brandon 21 (Soph @ Suffolk). I also work at the Venetian Moon restaurant helping out my significant other whenever I can.

Oh yes, I also coach multiple teams at EVOLUTION 🙂
